About the job

Great that you're thinking about a career with IMCI as the leading Notified Body in the recreational craft marine industry. Our core competence is the CE certification for watercraft and their components. We also offer the industry further certification programmes for marinas and experts.

Role

You will support the Managing Director and General Manager and act as Technical Manager. In the position as Director of Certification, main responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordination of the staff
  • Preparation of technical documents
  • Training and monitoring IMCI Inspectors
  • Development, making available and maintenance of technical decisions, forms, checklists and tools
  • Keeping overview about reference standards and procedures
  • Interpretation of used standards
  • Decision on inspection methods in special cases
  • Application review
  • Inspection report review
  • Evaluation review
  • Support of internal audits
  • Maintenance of record system

As successful candidate you have

  • A degree as naval architect or as master craft boatbuilder or a degree in engineering with long term experience in the recreational craft marine industry
  • Preferably previous experiences in the recreational craft marine industry
  • Good understanding of quality management systems
  • Previous experience in team management
  • Willingness to work in a cross-national, intercultural cooperation in a network
  • Confident appearance at trade fairs and conferences
  • A very good standard of business English language, both written and oral
  • Preferable basic knowledge in German language

Travel requirements

The role is on-site with flexibility for work from your home office. Travel is expected for exhibitions, audits, bi-annual internal meetings, and external international meetings (e.g. ISO working groups, RSG etc.). Typically, this should constitute no more than 20% of your time, although this may initially be higher during the initial learning phase of the job role. The candidate should hold a valid passport.
