New EU Official Journal publication
The EU Commission has recently published Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1029 on 28 June 2022 amending the previous Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/919 which provides references of another three harmonised standards published in the OJEU.These are the following ISO standards:
EN ISO 8666:2020 as amended by EN ISO 8666:2020/ A11:2021 "Small craft - Principal data"
This standard applies as of 29 June 2022. In order to give manufacturers sufficient time to prepare for the application of the new standard, the date of withdrawal of the former EN ISO 8666:2018 has been extended until 23 December 2023. Until then both standards give the Presumption of Conformity.
The main changes of the new standard compared to its predecessor are as follows:
- the document has been aligned to the latest edition of the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2, resulting in the addition of Clause 2, Normative references, and the renumbering of the remaining clauses; all cross-references have been accordingly updated;
- the “allowance for the maximum mass of optional equipment and fittings not included in the manufacturer’s basic outfit” has been moved from 6.6 (Maximum load, former 5.6) to 7.8 (Maximum load condition, former 6.8).

EN ISO 11592-2:2021 "Small craft - Determination of maximum propulsion power rating using manoeuvring speed - Part 2: Craft with a length of hull between 8 m and 24 m"
This standard applies as of 29 June 2022.

EN 15609:2021 "LPG equipment and accessories - LPG propulsion systems for boats, yachts and other watercraft - Installation requirements"
This standard applies as of 29 June 2022. In order to give manufacturers sufficient time to prepare for the application of the new standard, the date of withdrawal of the former EN 15609:2012 has been extended until 23 December 2023. Until then both standards give the Presumption of Conformity.
The main changes of the new standard compared to its predecessor are as follows:
- Addition of fusible plug requirements;
- Addition of requirements for Outboard engines;
- Addition of LPG generator sets;
- Addition of Informative Annex G - Types of LPG propulsion systems;
- Addition of requirements for Fixed container - liquid phase for liquid LPG injection fuel system;
- Addition of new definitions;
- Updated text to paragraphs 4.2.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.12.2;
- Update to Annex ZA, Relationship between this European Standard and the essential requirements of Directive 2013/53/EU aimed to be covered;
- Removal of Environmental annex, references now made to CEN/TS 16765.

Be aware that according to Article 7, cl. 4 of the Directive 2013/53/EU it is the manufacturer’s obligation to use always the latest harmonised standard in order to achieve Presumption of Conformity.
